BLUE CHAMOMILE PURE ESSENTIAL OIL

Matricaria recutita

This herbaceous annual has dainty fern leaves covered with masses of white daisy flowers that bloom in the summer months. The sweet-smelling blossoms are harvested, and steam distilled to make a viscous blue essential oil with an aroma that is strong, sweet, green, and herbaceous with slight fruit notes.  Also known as German Chamomile, the ink blue colour of the oil is the result of chamazulene and a-bisabolol, phytochemicals with strong anti-inflammatory actions for muscular pain, arthritis, and rheumatism.
