Cymbopogon nardus

Cymbopogon nardus is a perennial tufted grass that produces a bright lemony essential oil when steam distilled from the stems and leaves. It has a freshness that encourages an uplifted, energised mind. Citronella does not eradicate mosquitoes, it repels them. The lemon vapours veil the aroma of carbon dioxide and lactic acid, two substances on skin that draw mosquitoes.
