Eucalyptus globulus

Eucalyptus globulus forms forests of tall evergreen trees that have aromatic light bluish-green leaves.  The essential oil is steam distilled from the fresh leaves and twigs to produce an oil that is fresh, clear, invigorating and camphorous.  It has strong anti-septic, anti-viral and anti-bacterial actions to calm respiratory ailments and prevent the spread of infection. It is an excellent pain calming oil for aching muscles and joint pain. It energises the mind and strengthens blood circulation to stimulate brain activity, making it excellent for depression, and clear thinking.

The merits of this oil 

Excellent for colds, flu and tight chests:  Excellent for respiratory ailments such as coughs, colds, sore throat, nasal congestion, asthma and bronchitis. Inhale the vapours straight from the bottle or put a couple of drops in a bowl of steaming water and inhale. With flu symptoms, dilute a couple of drops in Sweet Almond oil and massage on sore, cramping muscles.

Calms headaches:  Excellent for the pain of headaches. Strengthen the pain calming actions of this oil and blend with any of the following oils for sinus headaches: Peppermint, Rosemary or Thyme essential oils.

Anti-dandruff hair growth:  Calms dandruff on the scalp, besides its effectiveness for stimulating hair growth.

Wart calmer:  Dab a couple of drops onto your wart every day and cover with a bandage until the wart dissolves.

Rheumatoid arthritis:  A natural analgesic with anti-inflammatory actions to calm inflammation and cramping, particularly the pain of aching joints.

Sleep apnoea:  Effective for sleep apnoea caused by clogged respiratory tracts. Eucalyptus globulus has anti-inflammatory, unclogging actions to clear mucus from the nose and throat for calmer, clearer breathing.

Brain energising:  Energises the brain and calms a stressed mind. Eucalyptus can help stimulate brain activity by increasing blood circulation to increase energy levels.
