Levisticum officinalis

Lovage is a bright-green perennial herb with sturdy stems, similar to celery stalks.  It has glossy, serrated leaves that also resemble those of celery.  A smooth, earthy essential oil is steam distilled from the roots, leaves and seeds. This renowned ancient herb was known to improve rheumatism, jaundice, stomach ailments and sore throats.  Nowadays, it is used to detox and purify toxins from the bloodstream, calming the symptoms of arthritis, rheumatism and sore joints. An excellent nervine, Lovage calms nerves, the result is that the body responds by calming the heart and lowers blood pressure.

The merits of this oil
