Indigenous to the rainforests of Peru, Plukenetia volúbilis is a slender climbing vine that clambers over the ground and then twines upwards into the surrounding vegetation. Inca Inchi, also known as Treasure of the Incas, has star-shaped edible seeds and leaves. It is increasingly being planted for its excellent nutritious oil.

The nutrient-dense whole seeds are eaten roasted and have a nutty flavour. Inca Inchi is cold pressed from the edible seeds and is rich in omega fatty acids, protein, vitamins A and E and beta-sitosterol. It is a light, nourishing oil rich in omega fatty acids with a green aroma and a mild, nutty flavour. Inca Inchi is a nourishing oil for skin and hair.
